Let's say a guy goes to jail- does he lose his house?

If a guy goes to prison, for let's say 1 year-- does he lose his house, since he can't pay the house bill? What about his insurance-- will he lose that, too! If he has kids, and they don't have a mother, what will happen to them-- foster care until he gets out? Will he be able to get them back. All answers are appreciated!
