What is it like being a prison guard?

Id like to know the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to being a prison guard for a female. I know some will say my gender dont have alot to do with a job like this but I feel like it does. Im thinking about doing this and if I do the prisons around here are mostly minimum security prisons. thanks
